Message from the East – April 2014

Fraternal Greetings Brethren!

Looks like Spring is finally here! Warmer weather and more hours of daylight.

On Thursday, March 13th, we discussed plans for the rest of the Masonic year, where we are with the Cornerstone certification, some Officer instruction/mentorship, fun family/social events as well as some education. This was an excellent evening and much was considered and discussed such as a Rusty Mason night in the fall. V.W. Bro. Don Laycock also did a presentation on conducting a Masonic Memorial Service.

On Thursday, March 27th, we conferred the 3rd Degree on Bro. Swami of Mississauga Lodge No. 524. Congratulations. Bro. Swami was also an excellent candidate showing that he was well prepared. This evening was also our Annual Step-Up night – the work was well done and appreciated. We have a little bit of work to do but we work as a team and help each other. Bros. Robalino and Arturi took the opportunity to prove themselves in the Third Degree, and did an excellent job.

At our upcoming Regular meeting on Thursday, April 10th, we will be conducting our Annual Elections and some further education.

At our Emergent meeting on Thursday, April 24th, we will be conducting the 3rd degree on Bro. Peter McCullough and Bro. Shantanu (Shan) Singh Kumar – they are ready! The officers from step-up night will again reprise the chairs they occupied on March 27th in another opportunity to shine. We will be holding a practice on the Saturday afternoon (April 19th) – details to follow.

I look forward to greeting each of you at our Regular Meeting on April the 10th and our Emergent Meeting on April the 24th.

Please let me or the Secretary know if you would like to be advanced to the next degree so we can plan accordingly. If you require any assistance in advancing, please let me know so that we can make it a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

REMINDER: At our Thursday, May 8th meeting, we will be welcoming Mississauga Chapter, Order of DeMolay and Primrose Assembly #8, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls for a presentation to our members, friends and family. This will be a Friend to Friend event as well as an Open House.

Finally, to our sick and shut-in Brethren, our thoughts and prayers are with you, and please do not hesitate to contact me or any officer of the lodge if we can be of any assistance. If you require a drive to lodge, please let us know and we will make arrangements.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

W. Bro. James Leutri
