At our Regular meeting on Thursday, November 13th, we welcomed R.W. Bro. James G. Lawson, District Deputy Grand Master, Toronto West District on the occasion of his Official Visit of Flower City Lodge. We conferred an exemplification of the 2nd Degree on Bro. Desdune Bernard as our Brother to be Passed to the 2nd Degree was away on business. Excellent work once again by all the Brethren! I would also like to thank Bro. Renaldo Faraon, from Ionic Lodge No. 229 for filling in as our Inner Guard. Prior to closing the Lodge in the 2nd Degree, we conducted some education (Beyond the Pillars – Chapter 11 – The Fellowcraft Degree – Workmen and Wages – page 105). Prior to the close of the lodge, we conducted some further education (Beyond the Pillars – Chapter 10 – The Entered Apprentice Degree – The Lecture in the North-East – page 95). Thank you to Bro. Terry Austin, our Junior Warden, and the Brethren which assisted him in preparing and setting up a wonderful banquet prior to Lodge. It was delicious!
At our Emergent Meeting, on Thursday, November 27th, we conducted the Entered apprentice Degree on Mr. John Chaney Morkill. Excellent work by all those in attendance. I would also like to thank Bro. Nick Maharaj, from Ionic Lodge No. 229 for filling in as our Inner Guard. Thank you to V.W. Bro. Wayne Gare, Past Grand Steward on performing the Final Charge for Bro. Morkill. A special thank you to M.W. Bro. Gary L. Atkinson, Past Grand Master for attending and supporting Bro. Morkill on his initiation into Freemasonry and the inspiring words of wisdom imparted to the Brethren present.
At our upcoming Regular meeting on Thursday, December 11th, we will be conferring the 3rd Degree on Bro. Desdune Bernard. The worksheet has been sent out. Please come out to support our Brother and watch or participate in this wonderful degree.
As per usual, we do not have an Emergent Meeting in December.
Brethren, remember to support the DISTRICT CHARITY EVENTS TO AID PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH. These events are for all of us – fathers, sons, uncles, grandfathers, nephews – this can affect any one of us at any time without warning. Read the summons, district website for further details on the events to support the District Charity.
Please let me or the Secretary know if you would like to be advanced to the next degree so we can plan accordingly. If you require any assistance in advancing, please let me know so that we can make it a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Finally, to our sick and shut-in Brethren, our thoughts and prayers are with you, and please do not hesitate to contact me or any officer of the lodge if we can be of any assistance. If you require a drive to lodge, please let us know and we will make arrangements. I look forward to greeting each of you at our Regular Meeting on December the 11th. Lastly, I wish all the Brethren and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Sincerely and Fraternally – W. Bro. James Leutri
