At Regular meeting on Thursday, January 8th, we conferred the 3rd Degree on Bro. Desdune Bernard. Bro. Bernard was an excellent candidate and showed that he was well prepared. Congratulations! The Toronto West Travelling Gavel has temporarily left Flower City Lodge and now has its home with Joseph A. Hearn Lodge No. 685 – they had an excellent contingent led by their Worshipful Master W. Bro. Adam Carney. They also provided us with an Inner Guard as our Inner Guard was tending to his broken furnace. I would also like to thank W. Bro. Gabe Spoletini for filling in as Senior Deacon and Bro. Enzo De Thomasis for filling in as Junior Deacon – both from Chinguacousy Lodge No. 738. Brethren, this is one of the greatest things about Freemasonry, Brothers helping Brothers. Thank you to all who stepped in and assisted.
Instead of our emergent meeting on January 22nd, 2015 we supported Toronto West District by attending the District Theatre Night. It was the production of musical “A Sound of Music” at Meadowvale Theatre. It was a most enjoyable evening and excellent performance.
At our upcoming Regular meeting on Thursday, February 12th, I will be absent and W. Bro. Brett Kahler has graciously agreed to assume the gavel for the evening. There will be a ballot, pending a favourable report, on our latest applicant.
At our upcoming emergent meeting on Thursday, February 26th, 2015 we will be conferring the 2nd Degree on one of our eligible EAs. The worksheet has been sent out.
For our Regular meeting in March, we will be conferring the 1st degree, pending a favourable ballot from our Regular meeting in February. The worksheet has also been sent out for the 1st degree. At our emergent meeting in March, we will be conferring another 2nd degree on another eligible EA as well as being our step-up night. The officers for step-up will be contacted to enable them to prepare.
Finally, to our sick and shut-in Brethren, our thoughts and prayers are with you, and please do not hesitate to contact me or any officer of the lodge if we can be of any assistance. If you require a drive to lodge, please let us know and we will make arrangements.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
W. Bro. James Leutri
