Fraternal Greetings Brethren!
On Thursday, May 8th, we held our Emergent meeting. This was an incredible evening as we held an Open House, presentations from two of the Masonic Youth Groups and a Friend-to-Friend presentation. We had the privilege and honour of witnessing an excellent presentation from Mississauga Chapter, Order of DeMolay and their presentation of their Ceremony of Lights. Primrose Assembly No. 8 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls then proceeded to conduct their lovely presentation and explanation of the colours used in their ritual. We were then given a short presentation by Mrs. Linda Loiselle, Past Worthy Matron, Halton Chapter No. 280, Order of the Eastern Star which was then followed by Ms. Sarah Phillips, Royal Matron, Heritage Court No.13, Order of the Amaranth. We then had Bro. Ryan Reid present ‘A Brief History of Masonry’, Bro. Terry Austin presented ‘An Explanation of the Lodge Room’, Bro. Eddie Robalino presented ‘An Explanation Of The Term: Volume Of The Sacred Law’ and Bro. Jarod Leutri presented ‘A Brief Summation of the Symbolism of Freemasonry, in the Three Degrees’ from SECTION 2 – FRIEND TO FRIEND PROGRAM from the Lodge Resources Manual. All of the presentations were well received by all in attendance. After the presentations, all retired to the banquet room for social time. An excellent evening with a full lodge room!
At our Regular meeting on Thursday, May 22nd, we held our Annual Installation and Investiture of the Officers of Flower City Lodge No. 689. A big Thank You to W. Bro. Brett Kahler on an excellent job as my Installing Master and thank you to the Installing Board. I look forward to serving as Worshipful Master of Flower City for another year. Congratulations to all the officers installed and invested. We have only begun this incredible journey and have much work left. I plan to continue education at each meeting, fully implementing our phone committee with regular communications, implementing the mentor program as well as officer progression mentorship, and most importantly, some social time and events with the Brethren and their families. We have submitted our Cornerstone Lodge paperwork and I expect that we will receive the Cornerstone Lodge designation very soon.
At our upcoming Regular meeting on Thursday, June 12th, we will be conducting our business and then proceeding to the banquet room for some social time and a pot-luck. Family and friends are invited to attend. Please let the Junior Warden, Bro. Terry Austin, if you have something to donate for the pot-luck. Also, officers and members, business casual for the evening.
I look forward to greeting each of you at our Regular Meeting on June the 12th. Reminder 1: There is no emergent meeting in June. For those who I will not see during the summer break, may you and your families have a safe and relaxing summer and we will see you on September the 11th for our first Regular meeting after the summer break. Reminder 2: Please remember to attend Grand Lodge – voting for Toronto West is on July 16th at 4:30PM.
Please let me or the Secretary know if you would like to be advanced to the next degree so we can plan accordingly. If you require any assistance in advancing, please let me know so that we can make it a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Finally, to our sick and shut-in Brethren, our thoughts and prayers are with you, and please do not hesitate to contact me or any officer of the lodge if we can be of any assistance. If you require a drive to lodge, please let us know and we will make arrangements.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
W. Bro. James Leutri
