Message From The East – November 2014

Greetings Brethren,

At our Regular meeting on Thursday, October 9th, we held our regular business, some education (The Masonic Manual – 2014 Edition – Chapter 2 – Protocol and Etiquette – The Official Visit of the District Deputy Grand Master – Page 52) and held a successful ballot for our latest applicant.

At our Emergent Meeting, on Thursday, October 23rd, we conducted the Fellowcraft Degree on Bro. Desdune Bernard – Congratulations. Excellent work by all those in attendance. Prior to closing for the evening, we conducted some further education (Beyond the Pillars – Chapter 11 – The Fellowcraft Degree – The Working Tools – page 106). Prior to the close of the lodge, we conducted some further education (Beyond the Pillars – Chapter 10 – The Entered Apprentice Degree – The Working Tools – page 95) as well as discussing the District Project upcoming events. I would also like to thank Bro. Renaldo Faraon, from Ionic Lodge No. 229 for filling in as our Inner Guard.

At our upcoming Regular meeting on Thursday, November 13th, we will be welcoming R.W. Bro. James G. Lawson, District Deputy Grand Master, Toronto West District on the occasion of his Official Visit of Flower City Lodge. We will be conferring the 2nd Degree on one of our eligible Entered Apprentices or an exemplification of the 2nd Degree on our latest Fellowcraft, Bro. Desdune Bernard. The banquet will be held at 6:30pm and Lodge opened at 7:30pm. Please join us for our Official Visit as it is an excellent opportunity to greet new friends and rekindle old acquaintances as well as supporting our Lodge and District.

At our Emergent Meeting, on Thursday, November 27th, we will be conducting the Entered Apprentice Degree on Mr. John Chaney Morkill, as well as some education. Come out and support your Lodge and our newest member.

Brethren, remember to support the DISTRICT CHARITY EVENTS TO AID PROSTATE CANCER RESEARCH. These events are for all of us – fathers, sons, uncles, grandfathers, nephews – this can affect any one of us at any time without warning. Read the summons, district website for further details on the events to support the District Charity.

Please let me or the Secretary know if you would like to be advanced to the next degree so we can plan accordingly. If you require any assistance in advancing, please let me know so that we can make it a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Finally, to our sick and shut-in Brethren, our thoughts and prayers are with you, and please do not hesitate to contact me or any officer of the lodge if we can be of any assistance. If you require a drive to lodge, please let us know and we will make arrangements. I look forward to greeting each of you at our Regular Meeting on November the 13th.

Sincerely and Fraternally – W. Bro. James Leutri
