Flower City Lodge No. 689

Message From The East June 2013

I would like to congratulate all the new Officers of Flower City Lodge No. 689 on their new positions. I am very excited for the start of another fun, successful and memorable year. Having such a great team behind me will make this another spectacular year for Flower City Lodge No. 689. We have turned a corner! Remember, united we stand and divided we fall.

I would also like to thank W. Bro. Steve Ellstrom for all of his hard work as Installing Master on May the 9th in putting together a great team for our Installation. Thank you Steve, it was an incredible night.

I was pleased that my son, Bro. Jarod Leutri (Fellow Craft) was able to present me with my gavel that was originally presented to me on behalf of my family back in 2004 (the first time I went in as Worshipful Master).

I would especially like to thank W. Bro. Casian Cobniac for all his hard work, support, and his dedication to Flower City Lodge No. 689. He has been instrumental in the renewed success of the Lodge.

At our Emergent Meeting, on May 23rd, the new Officers and members of Flower City Lodge No. 689 were ready and prepared to conduct the 1st degree but unfortunately our candidate was not available. In lieu of conducting the degree, Bro. Terry Austin conducted 3 of our Entered Apprentices as he delivered an excellent rendition of the Junior Warden’s Lecture. Great job Bro. Austin on your first time delivering the lecture. We also conducted some education on the Entered Apprentice Degree from the LODGE RESOURCES MANUAL – A LODGE MANAGEMENT GUIDE: 8.5.2 “An Introduction to the New Initiate”. This short presentation was well received by the Brethren. We will be having 5 to 10 minute Education talks prior to the close of each meeting. If you have topics you are interested in discussing or presenting, let me know. Master Mason certificates were presented to Bro. Ricky Mehra and Bro. Glenn Crowe – Congratulations.

I look forward to our Regular Meeting on June the 13th – business, some education and then some social time. Brethren, we have a busy year ahead of us. Let us keep up the excellent work we have been doing – W. Bro. Casian Cobniac set the bar high last year. I know we can meet and exceed that as a team and Brothers. For those members unable to come to lodge, may the G.A.O.T.U. watch over and keep you.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

W.Bro. James Leutri

Worshipful Master
